A Girl’s Guide to Life by Katie Meier: A Review

by Abbie

I received this book from in exchange for a fair and honest review from the Booksneeze blogger review program.

Honestly, I wasn’t too impressed with Ms. Meier’s contribution to the already-abundant world of books for teenage girls. While there was nothing glaringly wrong with the book, it just seemed lacking somehow. It failed to engage me, or make me laugh. I’m 19, and I clearly remember some of the struggles I went through in my younger teen years, and this read like countless other books I pored over when I was 13, 14, 15… they all sound the same, and very few really got through to me, or helped me in some way.

My little sister is 13, and while I wouldn’t hesitate to give her this book to read if she wished, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it, or ask they read it because it’s the type of book to give you guidance or change your life.

Though a very good book, when it comes to an audience of teenage girls, this one misses the mark.
